The things we’re asked about the most…

  • If you are looking for networking opportunities or for a Latinx community outside of the workplace, you can attend our social and professional development events (i.e. happy hours, panel discussions, etc.) and stay connected with the CPL community online via Slack or social media. We currently only organize in-person events throughout the year in NYC and Seattle.

If you’re looking to volunteer - we are always looking for volunteers to join us in our weekly ESL classes in NYC. We also partner with other organizations throughout the year to create more one-time volunteer opportunities across our chapters which we post about on our Slack, Instagram, and our monthly newsletter.

  • Corporate Pero Latinos translates to Corporate “But” Latinos in English.

The name is meant to reflect a feeling many Latinos can relate to when navigating the corporate world. The word corporate has an association to being “professional” which, in turn, often causes Latinos to feel like they have to code-switch or leave aspects of their identity behind to feel a sense of belonging in the corporate world. CPL brings those two identities together into a community where both can authentically co-exist.

It’s a part of our effort to reclaim a perspective that remains. Most people will still hear “corporate” and not think “Latinos”. We are a group of professionals that show we have the same professional capabilities while also embracing our colorful Latinx backgrounds.

  • CPL was created with the purpose of creating a space for Latinos in the corporate world to connect and relate to one another based on their cultural and professional backgrounds. However, you do not have to be in corporate to be a part of CPL.

We have members who have been in corporate and have left to freelance or start their own businesses, some who aspire to get into corporate, and others who are in the non-profit industry but can also very much relate to the corporate experience.

  • We are an organization that is focused on community building outside of the workplace by offering an intersection of industries, cultures, and interests where our members can connect and learn from one another as they create an organic network.

We raise funds throughout the year for the purpose of giving back to those whom we have identified as underserved and underrepresented members of our Latinx community (DACA recipients, undocumented students, and immigrants).

  • The long-term goal for CPL is to have a national presence while maintaining its essence, which is being an organization that puts community at the forefront of everything that we do.

It will be great to see all parts of our mission taking place in multiple chapters across the U.S. (social, professional, and philanthropic components).

Currently, we have existing chapters in New York City (est. 2021) and Seattle (est. 2023).

  • Not at the moment. You officially become a CPL member when you join our Slack online community.
